I compose, write, arrange, produce music and sing for albums, commercials, films, theatre. Lead, backing, guitar and saxophone from time to time. I sang on an Orange commercial, did some backing on a Bosch commercial, wrote, composed, sang and did the voice over on the latest Karl Lagerfeld fragrance commercial, for web, radio and TV.
I am a singer songwriter and music composer from France. I work in a nice home studio with an AT4033 and a Bluebird on Ableton Live 11 with a Focusrite Saffire Pro 14. I can sing in English or French, lead or backing, on a lot of different genres of music. I can also compose music and write songs.
I am a professional musician since 2011. I compose music for the theatre, I sing for commercials and I write songs.

The collaboration with Juliette was very successful, pleasant and creative. She did a great TOPLINER job! She quickly realised where the journey was leading musically and delivered differentiated creative soundtracks, which we were able to implement optimally. She also optimised our draft 4 the lyrics! We would be happy to work with Juliette again if required! Thank you very much! St.Luc

Juliette is truly an exceptional singer. She has an incredible vocal technique with perfect accuracy. In addition, she completed the work in record time. I highly recommend her.

I reached out to Juliette regarding a cover in French and she delivered exactly what I was expecting. Good communication throughout the project. Looking forward to working together again.
Interview with Juliette Richards
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I highly recommend William Karadjian and Sacha Leymergie who are music composers and producers I work with. I also would recommend Mathieu Moes and Mathieu Tormen who I worked with here on SoundBetter.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Simply the fact that I'm passionate about it and I'm happy to wake up to do it. I feel lucky to be able to do my job.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My saxophone, my acoustic guitar, a pen and notebook to write lyrics and if there's electricity on that island, my computer with Ableton Live 11 and my AT4033.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in 2005 with my first band when I was 15. I wrote the lyrics, the music and the topline with friends who would compose a bassline and drum parts. I had a lot of bands in those years from folk to rock and finally found my own music stlyle when I started to produce my own music under the name of White Velvet. I started to compose and play music for the theatre in 2012. Then for the cinema and commercials more recently.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: The type of music I work on for my own music and tracks is mostly pop, but I'm open to a lot of diffrent types like electronic music, jazz, r'n'b ...
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think the strongest skill I got is to sing. From that skill I learnt how to play guitar, arrange music with different instruments, compose, record and produce songs.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio is located in a small town by the sea in France called Sainte-Adresse. I can take a break from the studio and look at the sea from my balcony. It's a hardwood floor with woolen carpets on it, acoustic curtains and panels on the walls. The setup is an AT4033 or a Bluebird with a micscreen, an antipop, a Focusrite Saffire Pro 14 and I work on Ableton Live 11. I can play on a Selmer Super Action 80 Série II alto saxophone from 1991, a Fender Telecaster electric guitar from Mexico on a Vox AC4, an FG-Junior Yamaha acoustic guitar and an Arturia Keystep 37.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm really inspired by Andy Shauf and Björk for my own music. But I listen and am open to a lot of different styles of music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of the time on SoundBetter I sing and record songs for artists. I can also write lyrics, compose songs or toplines, compose music, play differents instruments.
