Interview with fuck
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The "Psychedelic Intuition", a 9 track EP by $aint Vincent, all tracks produced by me.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It allows self-expression and creativity, and there is a lot of room for improvement.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Some people think making beats is the easiest, yet most lucrative hobby or profession one can have. That is very much false. Behind every beatsell and placement there is a process of learning, practising, experiementing through trial and error for years upon years with no gain other than the self-expression and creativity aspect.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started making music 5 years ago. In the first 2 years I was experiementing with EDM and House as I learned the workflow of my DAW (FL Studio). After that I started making hip-hop beats. I made beats in a variety of styles before starting a YouTube channel, where I mostly uploaded Comethazine type beats. After 2 years of progressing on YouTube I reached 300 subscribers and I started a second channel where I upload loop kits. I no longer upload beats on the platform, since I've shifted my focus towards making loops. I've still been making beats on the side and have been sending them to artists through email. In January 2022 I began working on a project with rapper $aint Vincent, and since then I've produced 11 of his songs. His EP of 9 tracks will be published in April, 6 of those are entirely produced by me, 3 are co-produced by me and $aint.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Synth heavy, experiemental, heavy 808s, simple hi-hats
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Artists that match my sound and who want to create their own path rather than follow another artist's.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't overdo the beat arrangement, and keep your beats simple. Leave space for the vocals
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hip-Hop, Rap, Trap
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Melody making, loop making. I'm also good on the drums but I believe it's not my biggest strenght.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A unique, cathy style and good sound selection.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Pierre Bourne, Travis Scott
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Music production, beatmaking, post mixing
