I started my career working as a recording/mixing engineer in some of the most renown commercials studios in Paris, which gave me the opportunity to work with well known artists from around the world. For the past two years I have dedicated myself exclusively to mixing.

Those experiences gave me the technical skills and most importantly made me quickly understand that communication was a key factor for bringing a record to its full potential ! That's why I'll do my best at identifying the needs of the project and make sure to capture your vision from start to finish. I'll put every effort and knowledge that I have to elevate your song until your 100% satisfied.

Interview with Alexis Cayrouse

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Have the song they envisioned when they started working on it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Listening to music !
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I always start by doing prep work. Organizing the tracks, labeling and editing if needed. Then I listen to the rough mix to get a feel for the song and have the vision of where it should go. I usually work on the mix for a few hours by doing broad strokes and once I have something that feels good and solid I start the details work. When I'm done and believe I'm very close to what the artist wants, I will send it out to the artist. I'll wait for feedback and will work on the mix until the client is totally satisfied.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understand what the client wants and reveal the vision he had for the song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am totally In-The-Box now with a vast collection of plugins. I use Protools running on a Mac with an RME interface. For monitoring I use PMC Result6, and Audeze LCD-X headphones.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I Mix !
