Interview with Melissa Lamm
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that I will bring my absolute best to your project, and work with you until we get it right!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started releasing original music in 2017 and became a full time singer and songwriter in 2018. Over the years I've released two EPs, a live EP, and many many singles - both my own and collaborations with Pop and EDM producers. Aside from offering vocal recording and topline writing services, I also release my own original music, and perform weekly on Twitch.tv to over 23,000 followers. Before I started releasing music, I studied classical piano and pop vocals. I also have a Bachelor of Arts Music degree from Carleton University, where I studied advanced music theory, and pop musicology.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work in the Pop, EDM, and Dance Pop genres (which also happen to be my favourite genres!)
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Songwriting is my absolute passion! I love to listen to new tracks and work up catchy lyrical ideas.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record everything in my home studio here in Toronto, Canada with my AT4040 (Shure SM7B also available if you prefer), Focusrite 2i2, and FL Studio. Vocals are tuned with Newtone and Antares Auto-Tune.
