Interview with Nicole Stella

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing music full-time since 2016.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Get in touch with the provider beforehand and make sure to communicate clearly what your aims and expectations are.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am working on some songs for my fourth studio album, which I will probably record and release in 2019.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog has a better sound, but digital is more affordable and accessible. The best would be a balance between the two.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Everything I do is 100% personal and original. Whether it's a song I am going to publish for my own project or some vocals for someone else's song, it 100% me.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I think I would bring just a guitar and my smartphone to record new ideas. A notebook and a pencil would help too...
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Acoustic music, mainly folk and pop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am a pretty good singer.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record vocals and guitars on a Behringer C-1. My audio interface is a Behringer U-Phoria and I use Ubuntu studio for software.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I am a fan of folk and classic rock from the Seventies, so people like Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Neil Young are my match.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I lend my voice to anyone who needs some solid vocals for their song, in particular on acoustic/folk/pop projects.
