Hi! I'm Ale Montves! I’m a mixing engineer specialized in enhancing the essence of songs. From a minimalist approach I manage to give value and accentuate your vision. Respect the sounds so that they can develop their full potential, identify and magnify strengths and correct weaknesses.
My goal is to get a professional sound, that disappears and doesn't get in the way of the music, that allows magic to happen and the song to be.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with alemontves
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We are in this together, We’ll work on this until your vision is realized, until the song becomes an expression of yourself that you’re in love with.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I think music can change the world because it changes people, so the thing I like the most is helping people change other peoples lives and also mine through their music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Minimalistic, that works in favor of the song, it's core values and emotions. I don't try to do too much or put my footprint on it, I do what's needed, no more, no less.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Labrinth because of the atmosphere and ambience of sounds he creates in his records.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all I listen to the rough mix with eyes close just focusing on feeling. Then I do quality control of the files, check them and prepare them to be mix. Here comes a second listening of the rough, but this time I take notes of things I love, things to focus, things to work on.. Then I try to leave some time to have a fresh perspective for mixing.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do they love about the song, what they want to transmit, what is they intent the motivation around it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just be you, tell everything you need and feel at any moment. This is your song, your project, your story. Don't be afraid of asking, speaking and talking. We're here because of you and for you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop with Pro Tools and plugins, good converters, good monitors, confortable chair,
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Listen to the whole song while muting things and analyze if they're improving the sound,
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Digging into the emotions and the essence of the song, knowing how to translate the that to the sonics and to the real world. Sonically, I love records that have depth, width and height. I achieve all of that taking care of transients, frequency response, dynamics and overall with balance.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think I bring the essence of the song out, like if it has been burried and I
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup as my work and life philosophy is minimalistic. I work In The Box, because of it's flexibility, sound quality and recall capabilities. I have one set of monitors I know, a treated room that I love working on and my taste and skills, that's really my setup.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: There are a lot. In the mixing and mastering field, people like Tchad Blake, Michael Brauer, Joshn Gudwin, Jaycen Joshua, Zino Mikorey, Jon Castelli, Heba Kadry...
