Let's add some "flow" to that track! 🔥 Mixing and mastering engineer with more than 10 years of experience that's ready to take your track to the next level.
Latin music flows through my veins as I've been pretty much raised by it. I understand what the audience is looking for and HOW to get there. It's important to make your listener move their hips and feet, especially in Latin music and that's where I come in! Since graduating Berklee, I've worked with major labels including Sony Music, Warner and Universal and have collaborated with artists such as Chyno Miranda, Patricia Manterola, Juan y Rafa, Marenka, and many more. My work has charted #1 in iTunes and Spotify, and over the years I've developed the tools to truly understand various Latin styles such as Reggaeton, "Pop Urbano", Latin R&B, Trap and many more!

Working with Alejandro has been an amazing experience! I'm so glad I reached out to him for post production on this song! We collaborated so well together! He is incredibly talented, kind, responsive and he went the extra step to make sure I was completely in love with the final mix & master. He brought a beautifully produced song, and just took it to a whole new level that I could only dream it to be. Moving forward I'm only working with this for post production. Thank you so much Alejandro!

Interview with Alejandro Sanchez
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Working with Patricia Manterola has been great, I've been able to see my productions and mixes live on various TV networks and shows, along with all sorts of amazing articles regarding my work. But my proudest work has definitely been my music studio (you can see it in pictures). I built it with blood, sweat and tears and couldn't be more proud of myself!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mostly mixing and mastering jobs, along with a couple of productions and songwriting sessions. I'm also working day and night to build an amazing team of talented songwriters, producers and engineers to start making music of my own and sponsoring artists through my own label.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes! Nathalie Q. and Macau are insanely talented.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both! Technological advancements have made it possible to obtain amazing results using only digital hence my studio is mostly digital. However, some analog equipment has that "warmth" and crispy saturation that is very hard to replicate, so I always try to incorporate some of that into my mixes.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will incorporate ALL of my best ability and energy to your project. Doesn't matter if I'm having a rough week, you will always come first and I will give you what I consider my best work. I'm always looking to improve so each project HAS to be better than the last or I'll explode haha!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Putting my heart into each project and listening to the end result. Making amazing music has always been my obsession and my passion, although recently I've found that fulfilling my clients' dreams is equally satisfying! Nothing beats "WOWW I LOVE IT" message, gives me goosebumps every time! :D
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Q1: Do you provide discounts for various mixes? A1: Absolutely! Funding more than one track at the same time is considered a bundle deal and I have all sorts of fun discounts for you :). Q2: How would you like to be credited? A2: Alejandro Sánchez is totally ok!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That a great mix/master will fix a bad recording or a bad song. Make sure your track is as best as it can be before sending it for mixing/mastering!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have any particular songs you'd like to sound similar to? Who's your target audience/location? Any particular emotion you'd like to evoke with your track? Is your production completely finished or are you looking for any finishing touches on the arrangement? Are you looking for vocal tuning/editing as well?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be on your best vibe! Vibing with my clients is super important for me as it makes the best experience for both of us. Not much of a fan of "one-lettered" responses (although I do understand people respond in different ways!).
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My first thought would be my acoustic guitar. If I could take my whole studio I would, but seeing that I won't have power, I'd be best off with some sort of SOS system xD haha! A recording machine could also be useful I suppose? Tough question for an audio engineer! xD
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been producing and writing songs since I can remember. I started my one-man band when I was around 12 (as I didn't find any musicians in my town to collaborate with haha) and just got obsessed with making a record sound not only good, but GREAT. This obsession and passion lead me to a journey through developing my songwriting and production skills, and then started realizing that the SOUND of the record could also make or break it. This is when I started to obsess with mixing and mastering, which was around 10 years ago. Since then, I've collaborated on countless tracks with countless artists, managers, labels and overall amazing people!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Bold, pumping, sometimes clean, sometimes dirty ;), but most of all TRUE to my clients' vision!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Camilo, Rauw Alejandro, Khalid, Billie Eilish (imagine her singing a Reggaeton track!!), Rosalía, Justin Bieber and many more!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always.think.of.the.song.first. Here, I'm referring to strictly vocal melody and lyrics. No matter how much production, mixing or mastering you invest into your project, a bad song will always ruin your end result. A good song however, will make your project sky rocket, and if you add flawless production, mixing and mastering, your bound to have an amazing record.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Reggaeton, Afro-beat, Dancehall, Trap, R&B, Funk, Acoustic Pop, the infamous "Pop Urbano" and many more!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understanding Latin Pop music. Regardless if it's on the songwriting, production, mixing or mastering stage, I consider myself a true fanatic of all latin music. You can definitely find amazing engineers with years of experience, but there's something about eating and breathing Latin music that I've found extremely hard (sometimes impossible) to learn.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My whole latino flavor and flow, among my years of experience of not only working on latino tracks, but more importantly understanding and listening to how latin music makes people MOVE. I'll make sure your track hits hard on the dance floor, if that is your target audience of course, and make your track sound better than you could have imagined!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts by really understanding and analyzing each of my client's vision and goals with their track. I feel this is one of the most important steps, as discussing this immerses myself into my clients' minds and increases the chances of success considerably. Once we're on the same page, I would then start working on the track with the files provided to the best of my ability. I usually just delivered a polished result with no demo's and no first drafts and then revise as needed. One thing for sure is that every delivery I make will have the objective of sounding the best it can, I don't believe in turning in something that's not complete!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I'm proud to say that since I was little I have dreamt of my current studio setup! I always find things to add, but I'm oh so in love with my studio it's honestly indescribable haha! The first thing that comes to mind is my pair of Focal 6be Trios that sound as pristine as you can get, but the actual room acoustic and visual esthetic completely give my speakers a close fight! My amazing Apollo x6 interface has incredible converters that provides clear and true sound through my already amazing monitors, my Mac Pro "Trash Can" is more horsepower than I can ever max out, I know each mic and instrument I own like the back of my hands, and in summary I consider my studio my best achievement so far!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Jaycen Joshua, Mosty, Dave Pensado, Josh Gudwin, Tony Maserati and oh so many more!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My usual clients hire me to enhance their productions or songs and make them sound radio-ready. This could include adding final production details up to full mixing, stem mastering and/or full mastering.
