Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: It often happened lol My on the go setup is: MacBook Pro, UAD Apollo X, ATH-50 Headphones, Prophet 6, Neumann TLM 102 Mic.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm definitely from the analog side, cause almost all my gear are like that, but I'm not a 100% purist. Some digital tools are phenomenal nowadays, and most of them are some smart reproductions of old analog gears. I'm using both, usually I work with all analog sound source and then digitally model it.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm really into The Weeknd sound, cause he incorporate different generes including some electro producers that have my same background. I also played with most of them for years, that's why I feel so close to his repertory and vision.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: It could be weird to say some big names. I think there are lot of great artist that don't already find their way, I'd like to work and help them to make their ideas come true.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The simplest, but the key for a good production: Spend time to choose the right sound and shape it for the song. If you do it right, everything will sound great without adding tons of outboards, and you'll have a clean frequency spectrum for your mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually are some Alternative Pop, R&B, Rap, Electro and Disco tracks.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My best skill it's to create sounds from scratch and design it like they ask me.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I do my best to add the right sauce for that dish.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all we talk about what they need for the song and the sound that they are looking for. Some references are always helpful to understand the artist vision and what they need for the track. After that, with or without the midi files, I can start to work on it and send the result in max 3 days.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I collect analog gear since more than 10 years, most of all are synthesizers and drum machines from the 80's. You can check all the list in the description; I also use some Vst, plug-in and outboards from Universal Audio. Everything it's set to work in sync with the DAW, I'm using Ableton and Logic to edit my recordings.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Usually they ask me to design some sounds, one or more elements that they want to add or replace to their songs.
