I've recorded for & appeared on records by Robert Plant, Morrissey, Paul Weller, Fairground Attraction, Guy Chambers, Graham Coxon, Alison Limerick, Shola Ama, Ed Motta, Tony Allen, D Influence, Alexander O'Neal, Neneh Cherry, Kirsty MacColl, Roni Size, 4 Hero, Corduroy. I have released 21 albums so far. From latin jazz to funk to jazz to ambient.
I play jazz for a living because vibraphone is not featured regularly in other music. The fact is that I couldn't make a living if I didn't, but I grew up liking all sorts of music & still listen to many styles. That's one of the reasons why I've done so many sessions over the years. I don't read music well but can play anything once I've learnt it. Generally my sessions haven't been reading gigs - apart from the odd one. I'm often brought in to provide textures & sometimes chords and/or a solo. I use 4 mallets all the time.
There is plenty of me on youtube if you want to check & it's also worth checking my band albums from the past - Vibraphonic, The Beaujolais Band, the Chevalier Brothers as well as several others on bandcamp.
I've worked in many studios in the UK but since last year I've been able to record remotely at home. By word of mouth I've done quite a few in the last year since I teched up. Now I thought I'd put my name out there & get some more!
I have also had over 250 compositions recorded & released.
My chosen instrument is so obscure it doesn't even feature in the list of instruments below.... But I play all tuned percussion - marimba, xylophone & glockenspiel

I record for people as soon as I'm physically able. I've been in the business long enough to know that all sessions are needed by yesterday & am happy to accommodate.... I'm flexible about revisions
- I have two vibraphones that I record with - A Musser Pro Vibe & a Deagan Aurora. I use two AKG 414's & always record in stereo onto my macbook. I use a Focusrite 2i2 to record digitally onto my macbook
