Interview with Eryn Nicole
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production, Mixing, Composing, Promotion, Cover Art
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am especially proud of my composing skills and recent (unreleased) songs I've made with complex melodies.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start with piano, select the key signature and tempo, and make a basic chord progression or melody, then I write the main melody, a baseline, and select my instruments. I prefer orchestral instruments like strings, harps, piano, glockenspiel etc. I like to use hip-hop drums, I prefer mixing samples or I make it myself on my DAW. I usually use 10-30 tracks for instrumentals, then I EQ each track, and final EQ on the whole song. **I also mix and master vocals, and I can do type beats
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have a long list of collaborative projects to work on over the next month, as well as solo projects for sync placements. I am working on growing my social media network.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, personal preference & experience.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: My most common question is either "Can you help me to promote my music" or, "can you help me with a melody", many people recognize that I am especially skilled in those areas and they ask me for work often.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have played piano for 20 years and I started mixing in 2018. My first official release was in April, 2021. Since then I have released 14 tracks and I have more unreleased songs I'd like to submit to labels, tv/film placements, commercials, game OST..
