Mixing engineer and producer whose recent credits include the band CHAI, released on Sub Pop and Sony Japan. I've mixed several notable alt-pop & hip-hop artists and can realize your vibe. As an artist I've been on a bunch of Spotify Editorial Playlists including New Music Friday, Fresh Finds, and Fresh Finds Pop. I'd love to mix your next record!

Mixing to me is as much artistic as it is technical. It's like painting, pulling elements in and out of focus and creating an immersive world of sound. I approach mixing as a music fan, looking to have the emotional impact for the listener above all else.

The vocals are always on as I mix the other instruments, carving space for the lyrics and keeping the spotlight on the melody. My mixes are full of tape saturation and glue. I work to make the instruments meld into one united groove.

I always start my mixes by doing the "boring work"—cleaning up any pops, harsh frequencies and phasing. Then I bring the whole arrangement into focus. Compression and saturation work best when effecting multiple instruments at once, so most of my process isn't on individual tracks, but on the relationship between tracks.

It's about making a complete whole. Making it real, creatively solving anything that's in the way of realizing the vision. Vibe is everything!
