I currently work out of a studio in Montreal and Los Angeles for various artists, record labels and TV companies. I have worked with artists from La Voix, as well as many other independent artists. Companies such as Vice and SpikeTV have also benefited from my production services.

Interview with Alex Duguay

Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
Writing melodies, writing lyrics, producing complete tracks and recording.
Analog or digital and why?
Analog for recording, digital for mixing. Recording an amazing high quality source is key. Mixing in the box is more convenient.
What do you like most about your job?
Hearing a finished product and seeing the clients reaction.
How would you describe your style?
Professional, unique, and open minded.
What type of music do you usually work on?
What's your strongest skill?
Thinking outside of the box, yet being conscious of the current industry.
Tell us about your studio setup.
My home studio, which I just opened up to the public for rental and recording, consists of a Neumann u87, Focusrite ISA One, Roland Juno 60, Sequential Circuits Drumtraks, RME HDSP Multiface II and Presonus Eris E66. I also work out of a studio in Montreal with TheHookCo, which has over a dozen vintage analog synths, classic analog gear and mics.
