I'm just looking to make good music sound better (pun intended I guess). I've released through Interscope, Glassnote and Warner Records among others. A few of my original works have been licensed to Google and Apple. I specialize in electronic and indie/dance, but also love anything experimental, film scoring, and hip-hop.
Hey there, I'm Ben. I've worked as a professional musician and producer for 10 years. I mainly specialize in producing electronic and indie dance music, but I've also worked with hip-hop artists over the years. I also mix and master, including some r&b and rock bands.
Nothing beats turning a simple concept into its own song. Whether it's a project that needs every step along the way to get done, or a single element like songwriting, arrangement, or mixing and mastering, I'm just looking to make good music-- or make good music sound better-- and help others who are looking to do the same.
I grew up as a classical pianist, and I also play percussion and guitar. I work in Ableton, and have amassed synths and plug-ins for any occasion.
Looking forward to making music with you
Best,
Ben

I really can't recommend Ben enough. He has gone above and beyond on my project and understood exactly what I was looking for! He took the time and care to get the exact result I was after. Will definitely be using again!
Interview with Ben
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I launched my second artist project, which allows me to create and express myself within two distinct worlds of music, and I get to share these works with two different audiences.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I create music for two different artists (both as myself). I plan to launch a record label over the next year, ghost produce for a few artists, mix and master for some clients, and compose for TV/film.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll always be honest with how something sounds and never tell you something sounds good when it doesn't!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Helping others communicate with their music
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I believe the drive to be creative is what most would call talent. Anyone can create beautiful music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new to this platform!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Provide as many details as possible!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It always helps to know what you want, but if you don't know what you want we can figure it out together.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been making music full-time for about ten years. I mainly work on my own solo projects, but started getting asked to help friends with their music about five years ago, which included everything from mixing and mastering to songwriting and production. I thought this site would make sense to continue helping others.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Crying on the dance floor or music you zone out to with headphones on.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: James Blake - the emotion he brings through his production style and voice is fantastic.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Taking elements away is usually more beneficial than adding more in.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic, indie/dance, hip-hop, film scoring, EDM and r&b
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creating moments
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Bringing out the best components and taking out unnecessary ones
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Depends on the project - but I've been known to work very fast..
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I mainly use Ableton 12 Suite, UAD collection and my many many synths and plug-ins I've amassed over the years.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: James Blake, Fred Again, Four tet, Bonobo and Caribou to name a few.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm usually asked to create a song out of a concept, or focus on a particular element of a song that's already produced, such as arrangement, additional production, mixing and mastering.
