Interview with Caleb Betczynski
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Falling in Reverse and Avril Lavigne. Falling in Reverse breaks down the walls of set genres and continues to create new music that expands the boundaries of what is possible with music. Avril has that sound that can’t be replicated. Ever since her Let Go album came out, I have been a fan of hers and her music.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My personal mixing studio is professionally treated and consists of my Mac Pro running Pro Tools into an Antelope Orion 32+ interface, which then gets played out through my Focal Shape 65 speakers. For Atmos mixing, I work out of 2 different studios. The first studio is Pentavarit Studios. I still use the same Mac Pro to run Pro Tools out to the Dolby Atmos Renderer into a Galaxy 32 interface and then plays out of custom designed Holl+Zerne LCR speakers and DynAudio BM6 surround speakers. At Blackbird I use their Avid S6 control console to control Pro Tools which gets sent to their Avid MTRX and then out through their ATC Atmos Speaker Package.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do either Atmos mixes for clients or just standard Stereo mixes.
