Strong pop-oriented sax player, but can do adult contemporary, R&B, etc.
I have been playing saxophone since 1996. I'm mostly self-taught, with many skills picked up from my dad early on as well. I have mostly played by ear. In my early years playing, I practiced a lot by listening to '80s and '90s sax solos in Top 40 music. I have also practiced to and learned techniques used by Kenny G (my use of my last initial is a coincidence) on both alto, as well as soprano.
Reactions to my playing have been very positive over the years. I have impressed mightily with my rendition of Boots Randolph's "Yakety Sax" (first time I realized for certain I wanted to continue playing sax for years to come). My classmates used to request that one, along with "Tequila". I also once played with Dan Akroyd who I was told had some wonderful complimentary things to say about my playing.
Additionally, I have plenty of improv skills under my belt, covering existing songs with sax added, as well as having written some of my own songs with bits of sax thrown in where appropriate.
For you, I can put together a high-quality 24-bit WAV file for you to use in your song, after which you can review and decide if you'd like a revision or now. I will work with you to try and get you exactly what you're looking for.
Since I am trying to build my profile from scratch here, I am offering my services for cheap if you're willing to give me a shot.
