Put your art into the hands of someone who cares as much as you do. I've worked with, and have been apart of records with artists such as Wrekonize, Icewear Vezzo, Too Short, CES Cru, Euroz, Bernz, Jarren Benton, and many more... My work has appeared multiple times on the 'Billboard Hot 100', as well as top-10 on iTunes.
My name is David Grants. I'm a mixing/mastering engineer, and producer/songwriter from Las Vegas, NV.
My initial working-relationship with music started as a producer. Around this time, I would pay engineers to record and mix demo records that I produced for placement. Now, I didn't know it at the time, but this is what would lead me into becoming an audio engineer.
Let me explain...
I've always believed in the highest quality in regards to the creation of music and the handling of it in post. I set a standard for myself when I started, and I never wanted to budge on that principle. To stray away from the belief that music should always sound amazing would be going against everything that makes me who I am today. That being said, I'll get into my point.
I used to pay hard-earned money to engineers to deliver a top-notch sound. A sound that, simply put, wasn't being delivered. I would pay for their service, and I would leave disappointed. Well, not anymore...
I now have over 12 years of experience as a mixing/mastering engineer. During this time, I've mixed artists from indie to mainstream. I've been responsible for handling projects in the genres of: Pop, Hip-Hop/Rap, R&B, EDM, Rock, Metal, Voice-over/Spoken word, Reggae/Ska, Neo soul, Jazz, Country, and Classical.
(NOTE: I am open to working on anything not listed)

Interview with David Grants
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro, Reason, Pro Tools rig, Akai MIDI Keyboard, and my Genelec 8030’s.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I get inspired by engineers like Manny Marroquin, and Mike Dean. As well as other creatives such as Ludwig Göransson, Cirkut, Skrillex, Hans Zimmer, and many others.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: This is a tough question. Digital provides a certain tool box that analog can't match, and vice versa. I'm honestly 50/50 on this, as I have a fair share of both at my disposal.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I won't be happy with my work until you are. That isn't some corny tag-line that I use to lure clients in, either. I take that promise very seriously. I can't be at peace with my work until all parties involved are satisfied.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Every song that's submitted to me is a challenge. It doesn't matter how small or large the session is, each song has its own identity, and with that comes new opportunity to experiment and have fun.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your goals with music, and how can I help you achieve them?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure your vocal takes are quality. As a mixing engineer, I can't stress this enough. Mixing can only do so much. It starts with you.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out as a producer, but found my way to becoming an audio engineer. This was due to the lack of satisfaction I was feeling when working with other engineers. I wanted my music to sound amazing, and I was committed to achieving that goal.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Versatile. I don't stick to one thing too long, or else I become disinterested.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd really like to work with an artist like The Weeknd. His artistry and voice are inspiring.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Whenever you're sitting down to create something, challenge yourself to be original each time. Don't fall into the same habits, because it'll show in your catalog.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Honestly, whatever moves me. I try not to box myself in with genre limitations, because it keeps things interesting and fresh.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My attention to detail. I don't approach music lazily. I'm extremely OCD, and I feel like that shows in the final product.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a unique level of care to the music. In other words, I treat records like they're my own.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I begin with understanding the client's goal for a record. I learn what type of feel they're going for, and I really try to put a certain emphasis on that. Once that's been established, I proceed with the mixing portion of the process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
