I am a seasoned drummer with over 20 years of recording and live performance experience. I focus on delivering the best tracks to compliment your compositions, with emphasis on feel, overall sound, and musicality. My goal is to enhance your music with creativity without calling out unnecessary attention to the drum parts.
My name is Michael Faeth and I am based in central California. I have drummed with Buzzbomb, Jessamine, The For Carnation, Atoms Are Aliens, Llama Boy, Strip Twister, Fiber Nudes, Sebastian Colle, and The Change; opened for Sparks, Flaming Lips, Stereolab, and Shellac.
I have recorded drums for multiple full length albums and several singles, including a 7" released by Sub Pop. I have played at clubs and music festivals including Bottom of The Hill in San Francisco, The Knitting Factory in New York, Bumbershoot Arts Festival in Seattle, Spaceland in LA, CMJ Music Festival in New York, and All Tomorrow's Parties in England.
I am originally from Fresno, CA and lived in Seattle and Portland in the 1990's. My drumming influences come from groups such as The Police, DEVO, Peter Gabriel, Missing Persons, and Rush. I am especially suited to record art rock, new wave, pop, indie, blues, and folk music.
I record drum tracks at my own studio, using a classic three mic set up (similar to a Bonham technique). I can create a range of tonalities from wide open, clean and compressed, dirty and gated, or classic vintage.
I look forward to collaborating with you on your next great piece of music. Contact me through the green button to get started.
