Qualified audio engineer with 8 plus years of experience. Let me help you achieve the sound you're looking for!
Audio engineering has always been a passion of mine. I started dabbling with recording and mixing in high school. From there I continued my education at Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan where I received my bachelors degree in music production. During my time in school I had the pleasure of working with many great local and regional acts in various genres. Currently I engineer and teach out of a studio in the metro Detroit area where I continue to grow my engineering skills while helping artists achieve their desired sound. At the current moment I would say that I'm most specialized in mixing hip hop and singer songwriters, however my experience ranges from hard rock all the way to classical and jazz. I love working on new types of music and enjoy seeing an artists vision come to life. I look forward to working with you!

Interview with Tommy Porter Music
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Personally I think both are great and have their place in the industry. Lately however I've been working more digitally because it allows me to work on the go as well as make recalls quickly.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I like to discuss what music the artists I mix for are inspired by before starting a mix.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been recording and mixing for 8 plus years. First I attended college for audio production. Following that I started working at a studio teaching production as well as engineering. I also freelance quite often. Outside of audio engineering I play guitar in a few local groups.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Lately its been mostly hip hop.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like to think my experience and skills allow me to achieve quality sounding mixes for a reasonable price.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a mostly digital home set up using Avid Pro Tools and various plugins.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do remote mixes for clients. However I do also provide editing such as vocal tuning and drum editing.
