I'm a professional guitar player, multi-instrumentalist who loves harmony, counterpoint, and choral arrangement.
Hi, nice to meet you! I'm Juan from the south of the world, Argentina and I have been a musician since always. My main instrument is the guitar but I play bass, piano, and singing as well. I like to play jazz, bluegrass, contemporary genres of music as well as classical music but I'm mostly an improviser and composer. I'm a harmony geek and a very skillful guitar player.

Interview with Juan Lucangioli
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll do the best I can to satisfy your musical needs.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: "Do what you love, and you’ll never work another day in your life" they say. I would say everything
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Most customers ask me if I can do their tasks in due time and it all depends on their deadlines.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do have any references link? Do you have any deadline?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as clear as possible. Describe what's on your musical mind the best you can.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Between Classical music dudes, I'm a jazz guy. Between Jazz cats, I'm a classical musician.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Most of the musicians I know tend to hate their music. In my case, I'm very proud of everything I've done. I could say "Bubble Universe", a song of mine in which I recorded every instrument but drums, sang, produced, filmed, and mixed the whole thing. But right now I'd say the project I'm most proud of is my next single "Rise Up".
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My music.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new to SoundBetter.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Everything will be digital in the future (if it's not already).
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My piano and my acoustic guitar would do. I'd take my computer, audio device, and the mic if I could but I wouldn't have the monitor and headphones so.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My granny was a professional alto singer. She started teaching me when I was two, and one year later I was singing in public places. I'm almost 30 now.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are so many...Paul Mccartney, Pat Metheny, Chris Thile, Louis Cole. I think I'd choose Mccartney because he's my childhood hero.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always use your ears. They know more than you think.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I'm working on my music right now which you can listen to on my Spotify or youtube channel.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say voice-leading acknowledgment but I've been playing guitar for more than 20 years so there's that also. Creating music from the scratch I would say is also a strong skill of mine.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Clearness and form. I understand very well how the structures work and I know how to get a good climax for the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on what the client is looking for. Once I get the goals clear I set a price and start working whether it's recording, composing, or arranging.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My audio device is an M-audio profire 2626 and my main mic is a Neumann TLM 102. Guitars: Fender Stratocaster 50th, Taylor GS8, Yacopi Classical guitar, Huerga Hollowbody guitar. Piano: Werther.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Bill Wurtz, Jacob Collier, Chris Thile.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mostly I work as a session musician recording guitar, piano, or even singing backing vocals but I also provide services as a composer/arranger.
