Pianist and Accordionist for over 20 years specializing in multiple genres
Wade Tarling was born and raised in Burnaby, British Columbia where he started
playing piano at a young age. He received his Bachelor of Music and Jazz Diploma from
Capilano University and has studied with some of Canada’s finest artists, including Mike
Allen, Chris Sigerson and Ross Taggart.
As a performer he performed all over the world including, Vancouver, London, Hawaii,
and New York City. Since 2009, Wade has been an active part of the music scene in
St. John's with several theatre companies including Best Kind Productions, Theatre St.
John's, Artistic Fraud and Rising Tide Theatre; and has been the musical director on
projects such as Songs for a New World, Little Women, The Last 5 Years and Mary
Walsh's Makin' Time with the Yanks. Wade performs primarily with Dana Parsons,
the Ennis Sisters and the Bishops, and has toured with Alan Doyle.
Inside the studio, Wade has recorded several albums of his own material with the
award-winning Hip Waders and has two solo piano albums entitled, Strength and most
recently, Winter Songs.
For almost 20 years in both Vancouver and St. John’s, Wade has infused his expertise
and experience into his teaching, from theory to technique, from jazz to rock and
pop—he provides a positive and creative learning experience to cultivate an
appreciation of music.
