Hello! My name is Seth, and I'm an award-winning off-Broadway musical theatre composer/lyricist available to write theatre-style songs and/or score with versatile instrumental piano. I've been working professionally in NYC for almost 2 decades, and I'm looking to expand my multi-hyphenate career to film scoring.
I've had much success in NYC as a musical theatre composer. My work has been produced off-Broadway where it has won awards including an off-Broadway BroadwayWorld Award for Best Score & 2 ASCAP Awards.
During the pandemic I started writing a lot of instrumental piano pieces for therapy, & I realized they could be used in films. I've improv-ed underscoring for many theatrical productions, & also have written out instrumental scores. I've developed an ability to capture heightened emotions with my fingers. Pre-pandemic, I was often busy so film scoring never occurred to me as a viable career path, but one of my friends moved to LA and began working in movies & opened my eyes to the idea!
Besides writing for piano, I enjoy writing string quartets. I also can write for larger ensembles, in the classical vein.
Additionally, I'm obviously available to write theatre style songs, of which I've written over 300.(You can find lots of those on my YouTube channel.) Furthermore, I had a critically acclaimed children's musical off-Broadway so I'm adept at writing for kids, too, and would love to write more for animated projects.
I'm a fast writer, punctual responder & amicable human. Finally, I'm also a comedian (standup and improv), professional crossword puzzle writer & a cat owner.
