Lifelong musician (with absolute pitch), Mercury-nominated songwriter, session player for many great artists. I love music, what can I say!

My band The Electric Soft Parade was signed in 2000, and we had a pretty good run: toured America, played European and Japanese festivals, were nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2002, and opened for The Who, Ian Brown, Oasis, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, and Grandaddy. My other band Brakes' did two albums on Rough Trade and another with FatCat, touring with The Killers, Belle and Sebastian and Editors.

I've done extensive session work with many other artists, including Ben Kweller, The Wedding Present, and The Pipettes. I play most 'band' instruments well: drums, guitar, bass, keys, etc. but my first instrument is piano. Absolute pitch means I can work fast, and my harmonic sense is second to none. I like to get inside a project, to become a 'second brain' of the author, therefore any changes or suggestions I offer come from a place of respect and listening, and are generated from 'within' the work.
