I am a professional audio engineer who formerly worked for the world famous Abbey Road Studios in London, United Kingdom.
In my seven years with the studio I had the privilege of working on projects for a wide range of high profile artists including The Rolling Stones, Elton John, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, The Who, Black Sabbath, ABBA, KISS, Michael Jackson, The Police, The Stereophonics, Amy Winehouse, Florence + The Machine and Mumford & Sons among many others.
Having relocated to Australia's Gold Coast I am now looking forward to working with the next generation of artists and musicians.
As a mix engineer I ensure that all projects receive a complete acoustic treatment, including levelling, panning, equalisation, compression, saturation, modulation, time based processing as well as mix and master bus summing. Mastering and pitch correction services are also available.
I look forward to working with you!

Endorse Mick MorrisonI began work on my first 'solo' project around four years ago, which was a very important and personal project for me. I was recording everything at home with analogue gear, & Mick was always on hand with advice & tips on how to bring the best sound out right at the beginning, knowing exactly what would be needed later on at the mixing & production stage. Mick communicated with me throughout, and captured exactly the 'old school' vibe I was looking for, while also making it sound professional and of the highest quality. Looking forward to working with Mick on many more projects in the future!

Interview with Mick Morrison
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'm an artist myself and have been in bands for over twenty years so I understand how much your music means to you, I will never take my work on your tracks lightly and will put everything I have into making your vision a reality.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Getting to hear new, exciting music before anyone else, and contributing to its sound in the process
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you pitch correct the vocals? Yes, but it costs a little bit extra!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It's important to have a clear vision of the direction you want the mix to take and that this is communicated to the engineer, we're not mind readers!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Vibe beats perfection every time
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Since going freelance I have most frequently been working on popular, radio ready genres such as Top 40, EDM, Hip Hop and Indie.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: While it's a mix engineer's dream to receive perfectly recorded multitracks, I understand that artists don't all have the tens of thousands of dollars required to achieve this! With this in mind my strongest skill is getting the best out of multitracks that have been recorded or produced in less than perfect circumstances, making them sound professional and competitive.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I begin each job with a static mix, creating a balance using only the faders and pan pots. I then fix any problems with corrective EQ and compression before enhancing the track with effects such as saturation, modulation and time based processing.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I am primarily a mixing engineer; I take a client's multitracks and bring out the best in them while gelling them together into a singular, cohesive mix.
