I'm a pianist / keyboard player and I work as a session musician, arranger and producer for some of the greatest and most successful Italian artists. I started studying piano in 1978 when I was four years old and since 1991 music became my job.
I can record my Yamaha C3 acoustic piano using two DPA-4090 microphones through a Neve 1073 DPA preamp stereo. You can hear it on the audio samples on this page. My major is pop music but I can also record piano tracks in jazz, blues, funk, soul or any common style. I can record also any kind of keyboard sounds using excellent samples such as pad, hammond, rhodes, wurlitzer and synthesizers.
The acoustic piano session involves a piano tuner that cost 135$ (included in the 300$). You can also choose the cheaper choice with some of the best piano samples I use to work with (in that case the cost is 150$). In my opinion the "real" piano is recommended on acoustic arrangements. A real instrument has dynamics, harmonics, sustain pedal noise and why not also some imperfections that you can't find in a sample sound.
