London based Trumpet player

Paul is a London-based trumpet player, vocalist, recording artist and arranger, performing throughout the UK and internationally. He is a member of the acclaimed progressive rock band Big Big Train, contributing trumpet, piccolo trumpet and vocals both on tour and on the band’s latest album, Woodcut.

Paul is a versatile freelance musician whose career spans orchestral performance, musical theatre, jazz, studio recording and international touring. Following his Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal College of Music, he has established himself as a sought-after performer across a wide range of musical styles, from classical and big band jazz through to rock and contemporary music.

As a member of Big Big Train, Paul performs and records extensively, contributing trumpet, piccolo trumpet and vocals to the band’s critically acclaimed releases and live productions. His playing can be heard on the band’s latest album, Woodcut, and on stages around the world.

Paul has performed with many of the UK’s leading ensembles, including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Hallé, Philharmonia Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra. In musical theatre, he has appeared as Lead Trumpet on the international tour of Chicago and on the Paris production of Top Hat.

Alongside his performing career, Paul is an experienced arranger and recording musician and his diverse freelance work continues to take him into concert halls, recording studios and theatres across the UK and beyond.
