Christopher Tomlinson on SoundBetter

Christopher Tomlinson is a classically trained composer who strives to create scores for film that are richly textured and deeply connected to the narrative. He specializes in creating orchestral and chamber/instrumental scores.

Christopher received his Bachelor's in Music Composition from Florida State University and is currently pursuing his Masters at DePaul University. He is interested in working with filmmakers, animators, and game developers to elevate their stories. He has worked with countless groups and performers to bring his music to life, the Tallahassee Youth Orchestra, violinist Alexandria Hill, and Curtis Institute percussionists Julien Bélanger and Alexandre Lavoie among them.

Price point is entirely dependent on the amount and type of work required, whether session musicians are needed, etc. I like to bill by the hour at $25/hr. I log all my time and can send the timesheets with an invoice at the end of a project. For orchestral compositions like Paper Route, this can come out to be around $400 for a minute of music. For something less complex with fewer instruments, a minute of music might come out to $125 or so. Student discounts are available by showing student ID.
