JJ PARKI, songwriter & activist: Posterior Cortical Atrophy. The EDM Collection by JJ PARKI & Co. https://ditto.fm/the-edm-collection 2025
Since childhood, music has always been an important part of JJ PARKI's life. As a child he used to play the piano and the flute and during adolescence worked for a successful international music distribution company. He has been writing song lyrics since the age of 11 and his passion for music was further fuelled by making the track 'Free', thanks to a Slinky Music 2002 'Club Edition' software cd... Ten years later, this passion was reawakened when 'Free' was remixed by producer Leo Avorio. A few years later, a second remix came into being. More songs would then follow...

Interview with JJ PARKI
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm proud of (nearly) every project I have collaborated on - impossible to choose just one!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: That is dependent on my collaborator, though I recognise that my roots are EDM. In 2025 I'm going back to my roots with the release of JJ PARKI & Co. 'The EDM Collection' https://ditto.fm/the-edm-collection
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Creativity.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: The UK release of Milk Inc. 'In My Eyes' awakened something in me, which has transformed into the work ethic of my collaborations.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: There are so many talented artists, how could I choose just one/a few? - there is always new music to discover, which we don't yet know exists!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: New songs, as always! The EDM Collection is released in March 2025. Café de la musique, Vol. 3 is on the horizon. An E.P. with Ireland's Pat Travers is released at the start of 2025 ('The First One Is As Good As The Last' received incredible support from Amazing Radio USA for six months.)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Music is life! Music = happiness.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I began with music from a young age; playing the piano, then the flute. Before adolescence, I began writing lyrics, as a teenager I worked for several years in the UK division of Handleman - music & video distribution in various supermarkets; merchandising new CD releases and promotions. Music has always been with & around me!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I only write lyrics, I create the song.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: That is completely dependent on the collaborator, however we can influence each other based on what is wanted for each individual song.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Lyrics, arranging
