MDMDAAN is a self educated and self managing Music producer based in Alkmaar who's main focus is techno. He Started of in the early 00's throwing party's in abandoned building.
Creating a space on the stage for himself to experience and develop his musical skills and getting known to the party scene in it's complete form.
A few years later he started his own company in stage design. IlSince then he has been putting all his creativity into designing and building up many stages for small and large festivals.
For example monumental, UDC and ID&T were among his clients.
Due to the plandamic he was forced to close his buisness, wich he builded from the ground up.
He had to fire everyone and was finding himself in a complete energy sucking wormhole of emptyness. So he had to reinvent himself.
And so he did, MDMDAAN the artist was born.
He needed to put his creativity into something else or he would end up becoming sincerely depressed.
So he picked up his old hobby again,the production of techno.
Now he hopes he can create a growing number of like minded people that can appreciate his music.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A ghost production for Erwin D, within 1 week we came to a very good less is more techno track. He was very pleased and the work together continues.

A: That i can Turn shit into gold in 24h

A: Uptempo, strong melody lines and subliminal vocal effects. 20 years of production development and improving in the era before YouTube.

A: A limiter is key to a well processed track. Start with jamming and learn to know your gear.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Hyperfocus mode, when it comes to music production. Always chasing perfection to the clients need.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Richness, claritity and a professional sound. I make these with my highly skilled delay processing and vocal effects.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Maschine studio, ableton, logic pro , apc, komplete keyboard,focusrite scarlet, tons off musical knowledge and the best mastering software available. It depens on the project what i use.

A: Egbert, secret cinema, Joris voorn, solee
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mainly i do ghost productions, from start to end adjusted to the clients needs. I'f they require i can also do the mastering and deliver the stems.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A melodic techno track for my own label mdmdaan records.

A: Bolth, it completes one another.

A: Communication is key, music is the outcome.

A: Music is an extension of your soul. I get to experience and expend it everyday.

A: Can you make this into a viral clubhit? If you provide a quality mix, i'll put some hit sauce over it.

A: Don't ask for a clone of a track that's hot now, just spit your souls feeling to me and together we translate it to music.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Just start a conversation, we'll see from there. I don't bite, my music does
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Novation peak, Roland tr8, maschine, MacBook pro and a generator
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 20 years now, first organizing party's and give myself playtime. Then learning all music production theory to get started.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Secret cinema and Egbert, they rule by knowledge and style
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Everything between 120 and 133 bpm, based on just rhythm or filled with melodic elements. Less is more or in your face.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Production wise, mostly starting with chords or melody line, then the rest will follow. Mastering, depends on the quality of the delivered track.
