Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I was asked to take part in a mini-mix for BBC Radio to showcase all my previous releases and WIPs - this was a great achievement for me at the time and I had a lot of fun making it.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A new set of singles to release as a part of my new musical alias - Kasini. Watch out for future releases!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Adam Franklin - an incredible vocalist.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: I usually get asked how many revisions I can give them, to which I say - "unlimited!". I am confident that I'll be able to provide you with exactly what you want, but if you're not happy with the first result then I'm always happy to keep trying until you are!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I'm a recording engineer - Unfortunately, I don't provide any in-person recording sessions, nor do I have the means to do so. I just provide remote music production, mix, and master engineering.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually, if they can provide some reference tracks and a good description of what they want me to do, then I won't have many questions - I'll just get straight to work!

A: Lo-fi dissonance

A: Originality & extremely high-quality production
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My work process is different for every track - sometimes I'll start with the percussion, sometimes I'll start with a chord progression, and sometimes I'll even start by creating some strange sounds which inspire the rest of the track. It all comes down to what type of track I'm working on, and how long I have to complete it!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog. Nothing beats those vintage tones.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To deliver exactly what you want and provide value for your money and time.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being able to turn ideas from my head into actual sounds that I can listen to and show other people.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Try to be as clear as possible when contacting, this way we can always be on the same page and communication can run smoothly. This usually decreases the turn-around time by a lot, too!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A Prophet 5 and a massive sound system. I could survive purely on the sound waves and the beautiful vintage analog tones.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been making music for ten long years. Everything I've learnt, I have taught myself. My style of music has drastically changed over the last few years and haven't personally released anything for a while. But considering how long I've been in the game, and how much time and money I have spent on bettering my production abilities, I think it's time to help other people!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: So many to choose from! If I had to pick one, it would be IMANU. His music has inspired me beyond belief, especially his immense versatility. Just take a listen to some of his music and you'll see what I mean!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If you're finding yourself trying to fix your song on the master, your mix probably isn't good enough. For the most part, if your mix is great, you shouldn't need many plugins on the master, if any at all!

A: I have a simple (yet effective) setup, including a Razer Blade 15, Ableton Live 10, Beyerdynamic DT 770 headphones, & a whole plethora of samples, virtual synths, and mixing plugins.
