Interview with Frequency Addict
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Your mix will be slapping, thorough communication between us with revisions until you're satisfied.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Hearing a great composition and arrangement get brought to life.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: "Loud is always better".. There are loud mixes that sound great and others that have no punch and it's almost like the life is squeezed out of it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Send a rough mix you did yourself! It really helps us get closer to your vision.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook Pro, Grace Design M900 Headphone DAC Amplifier, Sennheiser HD 600 Headphones, Desk, Chair lol :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started producing electronic and rap music at 13. Then went on to study audio engineering when I was 18. It helped solidify my results and refine my technique.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean & Loud
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Volume of tracks is the most important factor if you want a great mix. One element too loud and the balance is too tilted and listeners will feel that.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Getting a pristine loud yet punchy mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: DYNAUDIO LYD-48's with a SUB, RME ADI-2 DAC FS, Plenty of acoustic treatment and room measured for best possible listening position to get the most accurate representation of the mix.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing and Mastering for Electronic Music, Pop & Hiphop.
