We do it all, from the first chord played to the finished mastered release. As artists ourselves we feel we really understand other creative people, and only want to help you get to the best place you can with your music. As experienced multi-instrumental musicians and recording engineers, we cover every aspect of the journey.
As artists ourselves, with a long running project under our own name (The Taylor Twins), we have found that having that intensity, high standards and attention to detail puts us in a good place when it comes to helping others. We feel very comfortable across a wide range of genres, but would definitely say that we lean more towards song / band / solo artist-orientated projects. Our musical passions range from The Beatles, through the rich and varied 1970's, whether it be CSNY, Joni Mitchell, Steely Dan, or the Glam Rock of the UK, take a bit of a hibernation through the 80's (although we do like synths), and pick up with 90's artists like Supergrass, Damien Rice, Queens Of The Stone age and Nirvana...so it's a pretty big net!
We have our own well-appointed studio, with great mics, and great gear all round...just listen to our own material as our calling card....all played, mixed and mastered here.
Here are some nice things people have said about us:
"The sound they make is so epic" - Radio 1 (Jack Saunders)
"Absolutely beautiful" - 6 Music (Shaun Keaveny)
"Fabulous Radio Songs" - 6 Music (Chris Hawkins)
"Taylor Twins in their prime sounding fantastic as ever" Radio X (John Kennedy)
"Dudes, this sick" Sean Ono Lennon
"Great Melodies!" Gary Crowley, BBC Radio London
"Very Lovely Stuff" Ruban Nielson, Unknown Mortal Orchestra

One of the most amazing experiences. How well Ed & Ollie found the right pocket for this record. Really great work! Excited about the future with these guys!
These guys are first class artists, engineers and talent. They shine.
Eddie and Ollie are fantastic to work with and can take on any task at hand.
I commissioned them to write a song in the style of Psychobilly/Punk (particularly inspired by The Cramps) to soundtrack my short Fashion Film and I was amazed with what they came up with. They really nailed the whole sound and vibe I was imagining and had a really fast turn around for what was required of them. I’d definitely work with them again in the future and cant recommend them enough. Lovely, friendly people and very talented. These boys are just amazing at what they're doing all around. They both have a brilliant feel and sound on their instruments and are great a coming up with parts as well as taking direction. They can also write, produce and mix at a very high level, and are an all round great vibe to be around. They're always on time and well prepared too.
These boys have a real talent and passion not just for playing music, but for all round music production and the whole creative process - it's so clear to see how it excites them. Everything they do projects authenticity and flare, without being self-indulgent. Accompanied by superb quality gear and a beautiful home studio you really can't go wrong with choosing the Taylor Twins to help create/contribute towards your musical journey. On top of all that they are so very approachable and easy-going, which makes long periods of working with these guys a breeze. Couldn't recommend them enough!

I've known these guys all their lives, and they exude a warm, sensitive musicality... They're musicians through and through, and know how to accurately translate an artists' vision onto a record. They're humble, passionate, skilled, and extremely talented. I can't recommend them enough.. Fraser T Smith
You'll be in very safe creative hands with Ollie & Eddie, their love/dedication of music/songs production is what they eat/drink/live for and their studio has some great gear/equipment inc vintage synths which they're not too shy to use/experiment with (sorry guys, couldn't resist the pun). Good luck and continued success 🤓 👍 🎹 🎼 🎧 🎤 🎸 🥁 🎷 🎺 🎶
Insanely talented producers, creativity is in there blood, they get it, 100% faith with these guys and my music. An amazing understand of analog, digital, modern and old school engineering/production. Multitalented musicians and also being an artist themselves they understand what is needed in todays market. Beautiful people too, a dream to work with, you won’t go wrong trusting your music with the Taylor Twins.
Ed and Ollie are the perfect studio collaborators; approachable, easy-going, funny, creative, and open-minded. They also happen to be extremely good musicians, engineers, and producers.
Over the last few years, I have listened to the twins develop their production skills, style, methods and the essence of brilliance that they have. I am so impressed with their attention to all aspects of producing. Their arrangements are superb, the emotional impact and effect they create is nothing short of amazing. Love this production duo. And that's coming from another producer, so hopefully is recognised as a massive endorsement. The twins deserve to go further than the limits of the universe. Yet they would still stay grounded I reckon.

Ed and Ollie are great to work with and are professional down to the last detail. I’ve performed live and recorded with them and it’s always enjoyable, efficient and thorough. Their studio setup is brilliant - great gear and vibe. Perfect team for remote or in person sessions, production.
Two immensely talented producers with a rich musical family background, Eddie & Ollie have a great recording and mixing facility (recently rebuilt and upgraded to a high standard). Their love of music is infectious and their own work as artists/ producers echos the classic AOR artists of the golden era of songwriting and production (the 70s and 80s, folks!). Importantly they are also forward looking, bringing a contemporary twist to that classic model. Highly recommended.
I've had the pleasure of working with this team and they are a really fantastic crew. Responsive, accommodating and totally committed. To say they go beyond the call of duty to help the artist realise their vision is an understatement. Can't recommend enough.
Professional musicians, really accommodating and lovely to work with.
Interview with The Taylor Twins
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: We are recording our own and other people's music as well as playing live a lot. Playing live is also a great thing to bring back into the studio, you can try out ideas and see the real time first reaction an audience have. This is extremely valuable to us know how to make a song live friendly.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog, because it has loads of character and often a warmer sound. Digital because the possibilities are endless. This is a good and bad thing haha, Sometimes limitations are a really good thing, It pushes you in a direction a lot quicker.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "Would you write music for me as well?" We've had this occur a few times and the answer is yes If we feel we understand your vision enough we'd love to write some songs for you. This would obviously need to be paid for as like anything we're devoting our time and hard work into it.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as clear as you can on references and communicate. This is the key to working well together.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: We've both been doing music in some way professionally for 7 years. (or 14 years if you double the experience.) The studio environment is no stranger to us as we have grown up in it. Very early on we were writing our own material and teaching ourselves through a lot of trail and error on how recording equipment worked. We later did a Music production and performance degree that confirmed everything we had learnt over the years prior. Our current path is to help as many different artists get their work to sound as good as it can. Everyone who we have worked with is getting a great reaction from radio and press on the quality of their recordings and sound.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: We draw on endless ideas & of influences to feed into an end result which has edge / impact, but also sophistication and its own identity.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One tip that is so important is conveying the right amount of energy in the parts you are playing. This can often be overlooked, and it can really transform a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: We strive to bring a personality and edge.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: We're both very inspired by producers of the 60s and 70s; George Martin, Glyn Johns and Jeff Lynn to name a few, as well as more recent self produced artists like Kevin Parker and Tame Impala
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Arranging / Playing on/ recording our Artists' songs. This is followed by Mixing and Mastering
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: To be really honest we're both extremely proud of what we've achieved building our two studios. Artists we record here are on the radio and out there being heard. It's a great feeling especially knowing the journey it has taken and the lessons we've learned along the way
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Phil Taylor - Laurel Sound Studios. Phil shares the studios with us and we are always running ideas past each other. Phil has over 30 years of playing experience as a Touring Keyboard player and Bass player. He has worked with so many huge artists and is the man for the job if you want true dedication.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We absolutely promise to treat your art/music with total respect. As artists ourselves we understand the attachment you feel to your own work.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: We love going out of our comfort zone and trying lots of approaches and ideas.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That skills don't transfer. Our skills between us transfer onto other instruments for example we’re able to do string arrangements as this is something we find ourselves doing versions of all the time when we're stacking up guitars and synths. It's the same skill, We understand the language of music and what the rules are and also how to break them.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What did you listen to growing up?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Definitely a Laptop without a doubt. and the rest would be a selection of tools to make instruments with.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I think we'd both like to work with Steely Dan in some form. We're both foremost musicians and it would be a pleasure and so fun to be on a record of theirs. Production wise we'd love to produce St Vincent or someone like that.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: At the moment we're working on rock music mainly but we're both very experienced and familiar with the pop and folk side of the spectrum also.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Our strongest skill is recording and carving out the right sound and mood for your track
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When we're approached for a job our first step is to discuss the job in hand and plan it. (What we do first and how it needs to sound and how to achieve it)
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Our studio setup is quite unique, We have two different buildings we work in. One is primarily for drums and live tracking and the other is a more intimate space. We had a variety of both vintage and modern equipment.
