I am a classicaly trained composer, orchestrator, arranger and producer from İstanbul. I create orchestral arrangements for songs and create orchestral/cinematic tracks.
I am a classicaly trained composer, arranger, orchestrator for almost 10 years and been producing orchestral tracks as it my passion and profession.
I can arrange strings, brass or a full orchestra for songs and create the sounds with realistic VSTs. I work with top quality VSTs and I am comfortable with working on many different genres. I have made pop strings arrangements, jazz arrangements, orchestrations for metal songs and electronic tracks.
If you're planning on recording live instruments, I can create sheet music and clean part scores of the arrangement for an efficent recording session. I have worked with different ensembles and orchestras such as Oerknal and Awkas Ensemble or Budapest Scoring Orchestra.
I can also arrange and produce orchestral tracks, produce cinematic music for ads and trailers, compose music for film and game, write orchestral parts for songs and make orchestral arrangements. I mix and master the tracks I made for trailers and ads or deliver stems for you to mix with your songs however you like.
So basically, if you need anything related to orchestral instruments, I got you covered.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.
Interview with Ege M. Erdogan
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: They I get to share my skills and experience on across many different genres.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I will know exactly the "correct" way to orchestrate a piece. There are always many different ways to orchestrate a piece and in order to achieve a result that is satisfying for the costumer, communication is the key.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask about their vision of the piece. What kind of an orchestration are they looking for? How they expect me to approach the piece? Do they have a temp track? Doesn't matter if they aren't familiar with orchestra, any information they can share is useful for me.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The music should sound full and finished on its own before adding the orchestra!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started as a piano teacher, as I move towards becoming a composer while I was studying music, I started arranging music for my performer friends. After a while, I became a full time arranger and orchestrator, as well as a multimedia composer for the last 5 years or so.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I aim for agile and powerful at the same time.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I sketch my work as I play it on piano and imagining the instrumentation in my head. Then I start orchestrating it with either pen and paper or directly into my DAW.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a nice home studio with both a PC and a Macbook Pro, I mostly work on my Beyerdynamic 990 pro and I compose music on my Yamaha YDP-164. I use Studio One 5 as my main DAW, although I've worked on Cubase, Logic Pro and Ableton in the past.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Austin Wintory is my composer hero recently.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I'd like to work with trentmoller because I really like his style and sound pallete and I've always imagined how would his music sound with orchestra.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The things you don't hear at first are what creates the difference towards a professional sound!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on pop and electronic music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understanding of orchestration and harmony.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My main goal is to bring richness and depth to the piece I'm working on.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I do is I compose orchestral lines for an existing song and deliver the stems to the artist and create scores in case of a live recording session.
