Interview with NoSpace Productions
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Rubber's debut album.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital because its fast and easy!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: R&B
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Communication with the artist.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: We bring the creativity and know-how to breathe new life into a song without getting away from the artist's original intention.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The song should always come first. It is our role as producers to fully understand the feelings and emotions surrounding the song before giving it the production it needs to take it to the next. The production stage includes a combination of working in the box and with live instruments. Once the production is done, giving the track that dynamic punchy mix and master is the final step to have your song ready for the radio.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Our main gear is an Apollo Twin Mkii and a pair of Kali Audio LP monitors.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Thundercat, J Dilla, Babyface, Steve Albini, Rick Rubin
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: A client will bring us a demo of a song with a vocal and maybe a guitar or piano part. We then take that demo and then turn it into a fully mixed and mastered production ready for the radio.
