I've been an independent professional music producer and mix engineer for over 10 years.

My mix process ensures that your tracks will translate perfectly on both the big and the little stage - from the dance floor, to headphones, to radio, I will ensure that your track shines. Whilst I am extensively experienced with mixing vocal tracks to a professional, radio standard, I specialise in achieving mixes which translate amazingly on both a club sound system (balancing loudness and dynamics, whilst retaining drum punch and a big bass sound), and on the radio / streaming services. Getting that balance is a fine art and it's something I have mastered in my years as a pro.

I have also remixed Rudimental, Rag N Bone Man, Jungle, John Newman, Raleigh Ritchie, Hayden James, Above & Beyond, Becky Hill and more.

Interview with Jack Stevens

  1. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  2. A: Feel free to contact me. I'm happy to discuss projects before we start!

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: People think that the key to mixing is plugins, hardware and technical tricks. In my experience, it isn't; it's listening. Learning to mix comes with many many hours spent listening to music and knowing what and how the adjustments you make will change the sound and help you achieve your goal.

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: I've toured the world through making and DJ'ing music. And I have absolutely loved it and feel extremely grateful. My first proper release was in 2006, when I was 19 years old. Ever since, I have been a true student to music production and artistry.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: Punchy drums, Full bass, Up-front, smooth, and crisp vocals.

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: I love the 'UK' sound. It's been in my DNA throughout my whole life and career. The UK's club culture has informed my own, personal sound and therefore my mix process. Having spent a lot of time in clubs, I love full, soundsystem-ready bass, and punchy drums. These are aspects of my own work that i have spent many hundreds of hours mastering.
