SyonkoTheMan on SoundBetter

I will write and record a verse, a hook or even a whole song on your beat/instrumental as a featured artist or ghostwriter. If you want I can even produce the whole song for you. I will deliver to you a mixed version of the song for reference and all stem files within 2 days. I promise to deliver a great performance on your record.

I have been making music for over 10 years now and in that period I have made millions of mistakes, but I have also learnt millions of lessons. One of the many lessons I learnt was how to take a good sounding record and make it sound great. Not from an engineering or production perspective, but from the perspective of the artist.

Many producers/artists are really good creators, some are even great. But I am sure you have made that one record and you knew it was good and you also knew it could be great only if you had that one artist to jump on it and take it to the next level. I am that artist for you, my contribution to your record is guaranteed to make it stand-out from the rest. I write very unique lyrics and record vocals, backups and addlibs in a way that will make the listener want to listen again.

Yes I am 100% here for the music, but I also know that sometime as artist all we want is a friend that does the same thing as you to talk to , even if they are half way across the world. I am here for that as well, anyway I am sure what you have created is already amazing, I can't wait for us to work together and take it to the next level.

Interview with SyonkoTheMan

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Mpumalanga To The World with producer Omit ST. I wrote and recorded all 10 songs, also did the mixing & mastering.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: A nice balanced mixture of both.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: Its Hip Hop mixed with everything I listened to while growing up. I grew up in South Africa so most of the records that were on radio were pop funk type sound. also a heavy domination of the house music and a genre called "Kwaito" at the time.

  7. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  8. A: At this point in time, I'd say producer Monte Booker. I'm just super obsessed with his sound and the making things sound off beat.

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: Always keep things simple. Try not to overthink things.

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: Hip Hop and all of its subgenres.

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: This is a difficult one...huh!!... I'd say rapping and writing raps and music in general. I pick rapping because I've been doing it the longest, I don't enjoy it as much as I enjoy producing and mixing records.

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: A different perspective I believe, one that is not expected even.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: I have a very basic studio setup. I use a Hybrid C1 for all my vocal recording, into my M-Audio MobilePre audio interface. I use the EST KeyControl 49XT for midi and also own a pair of PreSonus Eris 5.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: I'm inspired mostly by independent producers/artists, mostly the guys that came up from soundcloud and youtube. Your Monte Booker, Decap, L.Dre, Chris Punsalan etc.

  21. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  22. A: guest appearances on records and mostly production
