ACIDALEX on SoundBetter

You need a killer growl/scream vocals on your track ? A unique song/beat to be produced or mixed ? An effective marketing strategy for your music project ? I CAN DO THEM ALL.

ACIDALEX – Distorted to Meet You.

I’m Alexander Scott, also known as ACIDALEX, a trilingual musician, vocalist, and producer with a deep understanding of both the creative and business sides of music. I studied vocals, songwriting, and production at BIMM London, where I mastered the art of extreme vocal techniques, composition, and sound design.

As a one-man army, I handle every aspect of the music creation process:

Vocals – From guttural growls to clean singing
Songwriting & Composition – Crafting powerful, high-impact tracks
Production & Sound Design – Mixing, mastering, and creating immersive sonic textures
My versatility allows me to shape soundscapes that are as heavy and dark as you envision. Whether you need raw, distorted vocals, an aggressive trap-metal beat, or a unique collaboration, I bring both creativity and technical expertise to the table.

Beyond music production, I have a strong background in digital marketing, with expertise in social media strategy, branding, and campaign optimization. This dual skill set enables me to not only create impactful music but also understand how to position and promote it effectively.

Let’s push boundaries together whether it’s through brutal screams, dissonant atmospheres, or innovative marketing strategies.

Interview with ACIDALEX

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I started playing in a punk rock band when I was 15. When I first listened how "The Clash" mixed Punk and Reggae together I went to a more experimental and heavy direction. This lead me to bands like Meshuggah, Septicflesh or Igorrr that I discovered at the British Institute of Modern Music in London. Where my idea of becoming a professional musician became concrete. I then went to Berlin a city of experimental and modern music. The perfect place for me.

  3. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  4. A: Combining the violence and sadness of industrial black metal with the heavy 808 and hihat groove of a trap beat. I always torture my mind to create things that have never been done before. And I promise to do the same for you.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: A Meshuggah + Blade Runner trap metal beat. The most ambitious song I worked so far.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: To make your song as heavy and unique as you want.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: Going to unknown musical territories. Discovering new textures, new emotions through musical exploration.

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: My Focal Clear Pro headphones offer me full clarity on the track or vocals are working on. Everything is "in the box" no hardware but I have lots of quality plug ins from soundtoys, plug in alliance, Fabfilter or Sonarworks. In terms of mic I use the Rode NTA2 beause I like how you can hear all the creepy throat noises. It is perfect for growl and scream in my opinion. Clean vocals are extremely clear as well.In terms of soundcard I use the classic scarlett 2i4.

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: Distorted/Metal Vocals : Seth (Septicflesh), Joe Duplantier (Gojira), Corey Taylor (Slipknot) Clean/Rock Vocals : Dave Gahan (Depeche Mode), Jim Morrison, Peter Steele (Type O Negative) Songwriting/Production : NIN, Meshuggah, Scarlxrd, Anaal Nathrak, Rammstein, Igorrr

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That it requires no talent to scream or growl...

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What are the musical influences for the track, the reference, the intention and most importantly what the audience is supposed to feel when they listen to the song or vocals.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: First let's talk on the phone, understand each other to build a strong work relationship. Then give me as many reference and ideas as you can. You think something is to crazy to be done? Tell me and let's solve the problem together.

  21. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  22. A: I bring uniqueness to a song. I developped a wide range of different growls and screams to give as much personality to your track. I can very easily change for distorted vocals to clean so I have a lot of versatility. When it comes to songwriting and producing beat my first question is always "what has not been done yet". This is how I come with crazy, sometimes hard to realise but truly unique ideas.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Headphones Focal Clear Pro,Laptop,Mic,Soundcard,XLR cable.

  25. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  26. A: Layer sounds as much as you can to make your sound truly unique. Otherwise you will just sound like the plug in you use.

  27. Q: What's your typical work process?

  28. A: When it comes to vocals interpretation is the most important thing.
