Diamond City Studio on SoundBetter

A unique state of the art studio in Brooklyn NY that loves helping artists bring their full vision to life. At Diamond City you get more than someone just pressing record, you get feedback and people who genuinely care about making your album, EP, or song the best it can be. We want to hear your music and serve your songs the best we can.

Diamond City is in the heart of Greenpoint and is owned and operated by Ayad Al Adhamy. Ayad got his start touring playing keys in Passion Pit, then eventually starting his own band Team Spirit. He's created an amazing artist forward environment that is focused on bringing songs to life and making things sound great.

The other person at the studio is Craig Almquist. Craig played in a band called Cold Fronts that recorded at Diamond City in 2017. Fast forward a couple years and he now works at the studio producing and engineering. Together Ayad and Craig function as a house band, offering drums, guitar, bass, synths, and even lapsteel.

We look forward to hearing your project!

Interview with Diamond City Studio

  1. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  2. A: you're gonna be a star

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Do it

  5. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  6. A: we were both in bands, released some records with some major labels, and then started making albums for other artists full time.

  7. Q: How would you describe your style?

  8. A: pretty rockin'

  9. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  10. A: yeah, hire us

  11. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  12. A: pop and rock mostly but we've worked with so many different types of artists

  13. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  14. A: Creating albums

  15. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  16. A: I think we bring a lot of attention and energy to the process of crafting and recording a song.

  17. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  18. A: We've got an SSL console and all sorts of great outboard gear. I'm talking 1176's, TC Roosters, we've got six Bae 1073 and six Bae 1066. On top of that we've got a 1967 Sterling drum kit thats always set up with 14 mics on it. We've got a vintage mini Moog, juno-60, jupiter 6, Dx oberheim drum machine, and a wurlitzer. In the live room we've got a beautiful piano with over 20 guitars and amps. Sometimes it also fuctions as a basketball room. Honestly theres too much great gear to list in here.

  19. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  20. A: We tend to work on albums and EP's for artists. When we're producing a project we're pretty hands on and love getting into to the nitty gritty details of the song with an artist. Sometimes artists use our studio to track, and we just engineer the project. Sometimes we even end up functioning as a backing band for artists since we both play a variety of instruments.
