Interview with Strybo
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My own project as Strybo. I'm my own Ghost producer haha! Proud moments are when my favorite artists supported me such as Krewella, Nicky Romero and so many others as well as some big youtube curators such as Trap nation and Bootlegboi.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: On my projects, music marketing as a job and ghost productions.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I'm new to this platform, sorry! But I believe there might be a great amount of super talented music producers, artists, and vocalists!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital because I'm all digital.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: The best product ever!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The freedom to do what I want and earn money with something I love to do!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How do you do this sound? How do you layer sounds? How do you do these crazy 808 slides? How to make fat 808?
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That girls can't produce... Look at me , I can and very well!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you want me to do? Is there any artist that inspires you? Do you have references?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: If you want someone who works fast, has an unique sound, makes everything you want to be done and is easy to work with, I'm the one!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: a laptop, a wifi router, an electricity bank, a mouse and headphones!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing this for 6 years!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'd say crazy, unique, heavy and wild.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Krewella because they are my long date friends and because their sound is so cool and unique!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Create send buses one for Delay and another one for Reverb. Believe me or not, your mix will be much better if you separate these two and route them to your instruments, drums or vocals. Also make sure to sidechain the reverb and delay to the kick and snare so these two have room to play otherwise it will sound like WWE battle between song elements!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Trap and pop music (trap based).
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Doing crazy stuff with music productions such as weird sound design!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I want to bring value and a song that tells a story behind, something that can touch people's hearts or that can make people headbang or drink a tea and chill in a warm fall evening.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process, just like every producer, is to start music project that has a catchy melody such as catchy drum loops, instrumentation such as synths, arps, etc.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: This might shock you but 90% of the time and the main music process I only use earphones and a laptop no more than that! the last 10% are just to listen to how the mix and the music elements are sounding in the project!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Timbaland, Skrillex, Krewella, Hans Zimmer, and so many others!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do ghost productions, mix and master services or beats for rappers.
