Jesse Blue Eads on SoundBetter

Known for technical virtuosity balanced with passion, sensitivity, and spontaneity! Duo partner of TN banjo legend Willow Osborne and member of CA punkgrass band Water Tower. Known as a “musician’s musician” with skill across many instruments and genres, matched with the wisdom to both serve your vision and keep things fresh and interesting.

Hi, I'm Jesse! I'm a 24 y/o full-time professional musician. I am mostly known as a banjoist, although I have worked for longer as a bassist and guitarist.
I live in Tennessee with my wife, banjo legend Willow Osborne. As a husband and father I know how to listen and serve your artistic vision with full collaborative spirit!

My background is considerably more diverse than the average banjoist. As a listener and lover of so many musical worlds, I do not hesitate to apply this knowledge and experience to serve the music the best way I can. I am an avid improviser, and regularly employ unique instruments (extended range nylon and baritone banjos, high C bass, hybrid gypsy-jazz guitar) to create new tonal colors.
Influences:
Banjo: Béla Fleck, Noam Pikelny, Earl Scruggs, JD Crowe, Ryan Cavanaugh, Biscuit Davis, Willow Osborne
Old-time banjo: Sam Amidon, Jason Romero, Hobart Smith, Rob Stenson
Bass: Jaco Pastorius, Hadrien Feraud, Michael League, Sting
Mandolin: Chris Thile, Bill Monroe, Andy Irvine, Sam Bush, Hamilton de Holanda
Guitar: Julian Lage, Chris Eldridge, Django Reinhardt, Paul Brady, Adrianne Lenker
Voice: Sam Amidon, Chris Thile
Very comfortable learning by ear, reading music, manuscript, tablature, MIDI files. Whatever it takes!
