Interview with LORY
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. There is no “one serves all” for me. I prefer the middle ground.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That’s is all about the gear, when in reality it’s the person using it that’s most important.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What’s the general idea and where can we take this (sonically)?
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Hybrid setup
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: - Mixing and Mastering; - Post-Production;
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: LoFi, Hip/Hop, Zouk and R&B.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: J.Cole would be my #1 answer. Just like musicians, engineers are also artists in their own way. J.Cole and I could make some serious art together.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Dr. Dre & Noah "40" Shebib are in my humble opinion the best producers/engineers. They are both very versatile and still very consistent in their sounds. The aggressiveness of Dr. Dre and the smooth vibe that 40 introduces to his sounds are truly inspiring.
