They call me Kenneth...

There are those that engineer purely with techniques. But, I believe in those that are guided by what their music soul feels.

I am that breed of engineers. The kind that guarantees that your music will not only be heard, but most importantly, felt.

Interview with Lorivaldo Kenneth Moniz

If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
I would take a good pair of open-back headphones, a dynamic-condenser microphone, mic stand, 1 channel audio interface and my PC.
What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
It has been 9 fulfilling years.
Which artist would you like to work with and why?
J.Cole is my answer. Just like musicians, engineers are also artists in their own way. J.Cole and I could make some serious art together.
What's your typical work process?
I usually treat every song differently. Every time I get a new song or project, I usually listen to it 2-3 times straight and write down in a notepad what I'll tackled in order. I don't have a routine or a typical "plan" every time I get a project. Depending on what the project looks like and how it is, I may start by processing vocals and then process the instrumentation or vice-versa. Every song (some similar), tells me something different, meaning that I have different approaches for each song.
What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
Dr. Dre & Noah "40" Shebib are in my humble opinion the best producers/engineers. They are both very versatile and still very consistent in their sounds. The aggressiveness of Dr. Dre and the smooth vibe that 40 introduces to his sounds are truly inspiring.
