Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the satisfaction my customers have when they message me and tell me that they love what I've done with the track, and the community of music that is constantly bringing us together.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I would usually ask what they want out of the mix. I would also ask what element they think drives the song and makes it great.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: My one music production tip would be to allow everything to have its place. It's kind of like when you're packing for a trip, you have to prioritize what you need and give its own space in the bag. You can't take your whole house, and in a track, less is sometimes more.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic music, specifically club music such as house and its sub-genres as well as techno.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is my knowledge of how music sounds in clubs and at festivals. Because I am a DJ and producer myself I have had years to analyze what tracks sound better in these environments and why.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring the ability to highlight important elements of a track and give it a podium spot while allowing it to work with all the other elements to make it beautifully balanced.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My work process is very organized. I have a written outline that I follow to get me started and then let the project take me where it needs to go.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio set up is simple yet effective. I spent quite a bit of time conditioning my studio as opposed to spending tons of money on gear. I feel that this is much more important.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Hannes Bieger has inspired me thought my musical journey. His amazing melodies and ability to build a track around one or two simple spotlight sounds has amazed me for years.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I often work on cleaning up the mix and accentuating the best part of each track to make it shine. I will also find a balance around this main component and allow all of the elements to work together.
