As seen recently on the Kyle Beats video "I paid professional to rap on my beat" - which has now received more than 3.5 million views, I am a hip hop artist and rapper with a unique UK twist. With a 5 star rating on Fiverr, I believe Sound Better is the best platform for me to deliver my services!
Hey guys I'm Charlie J - I'm a music producer, rapper and poet based in the UK. I've been writing music for the past 6 years and have had songs feature on platforms such as BBC introducing and many more! My latest EP, "Middle Times" was received very well. If you have any questions please feel free to ask - I've done a variety of different tasks in the past from recording other peoples lyrics, creating parody songs, writing sung parts for singers even adverts for companies - just get in touch and let me know what you need!
The price I have given is for a full song being written/recorded - $35 per 8 bars is what I usually charge!

Interview with Charlie J
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creativity of it. Every job is different and requires a different approach and helps push me as a creative and grow!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Let me know what you're looking for lyrically and do not be afraid to ask if there is something you are not completely happy with!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Sunshine tinged hip hop. I've been a fan of Neo Soul and artists such as D'angelo, J Dilla and Erykah Badu for a while now and I love the vibe that their tracks have! That being said, I can still rap on any beat and provide whatever style you're looking for - this is just what I like to make in my own time!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Flow and charisma. Growing up I would regularly attend a local youth club where we would be expected to rap over a wide variety of beats. This could be rapping over anything from punk bands performing, drum and bass beats or even working with a jazz band which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a unique UK flavour to the tracks you want - most rappers these days are still American artists yet the UK scene is starting to increase in popularity around the world with artists such as Skepta, Stormzy and Dave showing that it is possible for UK artists to break onto a worldwide stage.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record using a Rode NT2A, which is connected to my Scarlett Focusrite. I have an insulation shield behind the mic and my whole set up is at home which allows me to record whenever I like! I also have a M-audio Keystation 61 and an AKAI MPD218 which I use to create beats and my own tracks on Ableton!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mac Miller is definitely an artist who inspires me - he had an incredible work ethic, produced a lot of his music himself and also produced for others. I also love Loyle Carner - he is an UK artist who is inspired by Common, Mos Def and other old school hip hop artists who he's added his own UK touch on.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: My most common type of work is providing rapped vocals for tracks. This can be anything from producers looking for a reliable rapper, businesses looking for a catchy track to help sell their products or even sometimes me helping a writer perform and clean up some lyrics!
