Julia sets the benchmark. Potentially a few could reach it. Unbelievably gifted.

Julia is a very rare find. Her voice is tremendous and it is a delight to sit back and hear her soul sing. Julia will elevate your song to places you simply didn't even know existed. I feel very privileged.

Julia has an absolutely wonderful and expressive voice and really sings with heart and soul – delivered a truly stellar performance! She was also very easy to work with, made time despite a busy schedule and still kept deadline with time to spare. Would love to do more collaborations in the future and would recommend her highly without a doubt.

Interview with Julia Loveless

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: A client once booked me to provide vocals for the demo tracks of a new mini-musical. The show was aimed at families and was focussed on educating and inspiring the next generation about climate action. It was incredibly satisfying to be able to work on a project that had such an important cause behind it.

  3. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  4. A: I've been doing this since I was 18, but not fully professionally until the 2020 pandemic. It woke me up by reminding me how short life is and how important it is, therefore, to do what you love!

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: A real range, but my top genres that people seem to seek me out for are light pop, indie, ballads and soft classical.

  7. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  8. A: Rich vocals that can melt & layer like chocolate!!

  9. Q: What's your typical work process?

  10. A: First, I take time to soak in the demos of the track so I can get a sense of the style and genre. Then, I start to experiment with my vocals, how to shape and place them. Then, go for the takes!

  11. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  12. A: Simple: Rode mic, pop shield and interface!

  13. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  14. A: I've got a soft spot for any female indie singer/songwriters - Sara Bareilles & Ingrid Michaelson are just a couple of examples. But also people like Cody Fry who orchestrate these incredible tracks that are both lyrically intelligent and musically awesome!!

  15. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  16. A: Mostly, clients want to use me for top line vocals or harmony backing vocals. I've also had clients use me for creating more of a 'soundscape' with vocals - atmospheric melodies, refrains and harmonies.
