Interview with Jayden Wilson Guitar
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is the ability to communicate with people and have a servant's heart. I want to take care of people and be a small piece of their musical journey, however I can help. Whether that is through playing guitar for them or simply giving life advice. I am here for my fellow musicians.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I like to think of my guitar work as the icing on the cake that is a song: it adds flavor to something that was already great and takes it to the next level. I bring extra emotion and feeling to a song by adding soulful guitar parts to it. I can create a chill environment by using lofi chords and ambience with volume swells.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First, I love to sit down in a quiet environment and listen to my client's past music or the current song they are working on. I do not even touch a guitar until I've listened to the song multiple times and understand what my skills can bring to this song. Then, I will play guitar over the song to demo different sounds and see how they will mesh with the vibe of it. This can also be where I implement specific requests from the artist into the song to test the sound. Once I have gotten a solid sample of my guitar in the song, I will send it back to the client for revisions. I will then take the requests from this revision to make the perfect, clean and satisfying cut of my guitar work in the song.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I have always been truly inspired by Eric Clapton and John Mayer. They had great success as young musicians within the rock and blues genre and that is very moving for a youthful guitar player. I feel like if they could do this and make a career out of it, so can I.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I typically will create a rhythm guitar track for clients. It could be acoustic, electric or both! Then, I will add ambience in the background of the track with electric guitar volume swells. It helps to add atmosphere and space to my clients song's.
