I’m Facundo Galli, a musician and singer-songwriter, and I’ve worked with Nicolás on two occasions. He produced my single "Mar adentro" in 2022 and also produced my album "Las melodías" in 2025. Both experiences were excellent; Nico makes you feel very comfortable in the studio, and his contribution is invaluable. He brings fresh ideas and plays multiple instruments, so I highly recommend him to any artist looking to take the quality of their recordings to the next level.

Interview with Nicolas
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the projects I’m most proud of is *Interpretable*, a 12-song album by Ila Baez. I produced, recorded and mixed the entire album in my studio, and I also recorded the electric guitars, keyboards and backing vocals throughout the album. It was a project where I was able to be involved in many different stages of the production and work closely with the artist to develop the sound and identity of the album.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I like most about my job is the process and everything I learn every day. Every song and every artist brings a different challenge, so there is always something new to discover and learn.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think one of the biggest misconceptions is that mixing is simply about making a song louder or “bigger”. For me, a good mix is about understanding what already works in the song, giving each element its space and finding the right balance without losing its identity. Sometimes, a good mix is about knowing what doesn’t need to be changed.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: First, I want to understand what the artist wants to achieve with the song and what they feel is still missing. I also ask about the references they have in mind, which parts of the production are important to them, and if there is anything from the original recording they definitely want to keep. For me, it is important to understand the context of the song before I start working.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I think the most important thing is to find someone who understands what you want to achieve with your music and who you can communicate well with during the process. Beyond equipment or experience, it is important that the producer or engineer can listen to what the song needs and work accordingly, instead of always using the same formula.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working in music production, recording, editing, mixing and mastering for more than 14 years. I started mainly working with independent artists and music projects, and over time I expanded my experience into audiovisual production, music composition for film and advertising, and audio post-production.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as musical, detailed and flexible. I like sounds to feel natural when the song needs it, but I also look for character and personality when the project calls for it. I don’t try to make every song sound the same; I prefer to adapt my decisions to the artist and to what each song needs.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I mainly work with pop, indie, rock, electronic music and different styles of Latin music. I also have experience working on projects that combine different genres and electronic and organic elements. I’m especially interested in working with artists who have their own identity and want to develop a particular sound for their project. siguient
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my biggest skill is being able to listen to a song from both a technical and musical perspective. After many years working with recording, production and mixing, I have developed a good ability to understand what a song needs and which elements are important to keep its identity. I am also very detailed and patient throughout the process.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I try to understand what each song needs to work and bring out what is already there, without losing its identity. I bring an outside perspective, production and mixing experience, and a lot of attention to detail. I want the final result to sound good, but also have personality and still represent the artist.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My process starts by listening to the song and understanding what the artist is looking for, their references and what they want to express with the project. From there, I organize and prepare the sessions, and work on the production or mix depending on the needs of each song. I then share a first version to get feedback and make the necessary adjustments until we reach the final result.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from La Terracita, my personal production and mixing space in Buenos Aires. It is set up for music production, recording, editing and mixing. I mainly work with Pro Tools and Ableton Live, and I use a Neumann TLM 103 microphone, Universal Audio interfaces, ADAM A7X monitors, and different equipment and processors to complement my digital workflow. The room is acoustically treated and designed to work in detail on every stage of a production.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by different producers, mixing engineers and artists, especially by the way they work with sound while keeping a strong identity. Some of the professionals I admire most are Manny Marroquin, Jasper Maekelberg and Alex Anwandter. Musically, I’m very inspired by artists and bands like Parcels, Radiohead and Balthazar.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly work in music production and mixing. I work with artists who want to turn their recordings into finished songs, taking care of the sound, performance and identity of the project. I also work on vocal editing and tuning, recording and mastering when needed.
