Beatmaker - Music Producer

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: I am very proud of the three last placements I got with a Spanish rapper called: D.Nadie All three of the songs have been released in the last 6 months and reached up to 200-350K views and streams.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: I do not master any tracks, beats or songs. I only offer mixing and beat-making services.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: I always ask them to describe their vision as best and detailed as possible to me. The more information I have at hand, the better I can nail the project, sounds and atmosphere that you are searching for. What I like to do is ask people to send me two links. One that shows me the instruments, and type of melodies you would like and another one that resembles the drums you would like your project to sound like.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Have an idea in mind of what you want and need the provider to provide you with. We are no magicians, so the clearer and better you have formulated your vision, the easier and better it will be for the provider to make it come to life. Once you have that idea/vision formulated, always make sure the provider is able to make that happen for you the way you want it. Just send them a message with all they need to know, add any remarks or doubts you are having, and in most cases you will have an answer very quickly.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I have been making beats for almost 6 years now, starting in my own bed room and now working in a studio with actual artists. Next stage is to start landing more placements, increasing my fan base and the community of people around me following my musical journey, by delivering amazing content, beats, free value and irresistible offers.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I would describe my style as very diverse since my signature sound is strong sounding new school drums on a great set of different melodies and sounds from blends of different Genres. I love to integrate Spanish/Latin or Electronic sounds, depending on the vibe and atmosphere I am trying to create with the beat I am making at the moment.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I have two different set ups. One is my home studio with some Yamaha HS speakers and a decent microphone, and some very good Mixing Headphones (DT 770 Pro), and the other one is the 704 Records studio, where we have a Neumann TLM Microphone and very good Focal Alpha 65 studio monitors, as can be seen on the picture.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I am make beats of all kind for my clients and also record and mix whole projects with different artists.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: Most commonly I am being asked if I can sample a specific part of a song. Send me the song and the exact time range you want included, tell me as best as you can what exactly you want and I will see what I can do ;)

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My headphones, my lap top, my charger, a MIDI keyboard and a generator that works with any material I can find plenty of on the island.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: Currently I am working on several releases with label artists, beats for clients and on establishing a successful online Beat store and Youtube Channel.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: Hippy Jack is an incredible producer and Beatmaker, and 704 Studios in Amsterdam is the best thing you will get quality/price wise to record, mix, master and create a whole song.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Digital, simply because it is cheaper than analog, and I like it to be able to produce anywhere at any time, by having all the plug-ins and stuff I need on my lap top.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I promise you to deliver good quality and exactly what you were searching for, in up to 3 working days max.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: I love to be creative and I love to make beats or to create whole songs.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I would love to work with many artists, but mainly 6lack, J.I.D, Kendrick Lamar, Luciano, simply because I love their style and the beats they always get on.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Keep it simple but on point, sometimes less is more!

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I usually work on anything related to Hip-Hop or its sub Genres, but I have more and more adapted the custom to blend/mix genres together. Most of the times I blend Hip-Hop or Trap with another Genre to make something different.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: I have a very good ear for what sounds well together, which is a big advantage for Beatmaking and Sampling. I played the Piano 14 years of my life, and still do for fun. I have a strong multi-cultural background, which brings great diversity to my music and sound selection.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I make the beats, I record the vocals and I mix the vocals. The only things I do not do in the process are mastering and rapping/singing myself.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: Most of the times I start with an idea or concept (song/beat/sample that inspires me), and then I go from there starting to make either a main melody or a main drum pattern. Afterwards I do the part I didn't start with, and keep adding some sauce to the beat in form of little sounds/atmosphere or a countermelody for a specific part. Last step, as soon as the beat itself is done and needs no more elements, it's time to arrange it and mix it properly so it sounds banging, clean and deliverable for recording.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I am very inspired by Bizarrap, an Argentinian Music Producer with crazy fire, Hippy Jack, platinum producer and one of my idols from day 1, and lastly big names in the German and UK industry such as OZ, PZY, Judee, Gotcha, Ghosty and CZR.
