Eno on SoundBetter

Dynamic songwriter top liner and vocalist across a range of genres. I can write for specific occasions or themes with a fast turn around.

My focus is providing what works for you. I have experience both in writing songs from scratch and working to elevate the lyricism and instrumental for songs written by others.

I am happy to continue working on a song as long as it takes to accurately capture the sound you are looking for. I am also a vocalist and thus would also be open to putting demo vocals on your songs. Additionally, I am an acoustic pianist and am happy to develop any piano based pieces you have.

I write songs primarily in genres such as RnB/Soul, RnB/Hip-Hop, Alternative/Indie, Acoustic and Pop but can adapt to a much wider range.

I look forward to working with you!

Interview with Eno

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: At the moment I am simultaneously working on an Afro-fusion/ Alte EP and a slower Alternative/Indie EP. I love the contrast and being able to draw on different skills and styles in everything I work on.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: My promise to my clients is to keep working on a song efficiently and effectively until the sound they are happy and satisfied with the sound achieved.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: I really enjoy the challenge of creating authentic pieces/ vocals in a variety of genres. I also love finding different ways to covey a theme or message or energy in a song using both the lyrics (+ melody, harmony and adlibs) and the instrumental.Finding that synergy is a highlight for me.

  7. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  8. A: The main questions I would ask, especially when providing a client with a fully composed and songwriter song are as follows: - What style of music do you want- do you have any references for style/ sound? - What do you want the song to be about/ for- are there any specific themes you want the song to revolve around? - Are you working with a specific time limit- how quickly do you need the song back? - Do you prefer more simple vocals or more busy vocals? (in terms of ad libs and harmonies etc) These would be my main questions but I like to discuss my client's vision enough to ensure that we are on the same page and have a mutual understanding of what they are expecting from me.

  9. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  10. A: I would tell a customer to make sure they have at least a rough idea of what they are looking for and never be shy to say if something doesn't come out the way you are hoping for it to. Know what you're expecting but also be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I have been songwriting since my school days. I work on projects for clients, for myself and with groups/ other musicians. As of now my work is unreleased but I aim to release 3 short EPs in the next 3-4 years.

  13. Q: How would you describe your style?

  14. A: I would definitely describe my style as versatile. My style varies with the type of song I am working on and it is constantly developing and improving.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Most commonly I work on Acoustic songs as well as R&B/Hip-Hop songs. I have recently delved into the genre of Afro-fusion and Alternative music to broaden my horizons. I am good with composing Swing/Jazz songs as well as songwriting for Pop music. Additionally I often compose and songwriter songs for specific occasions or based on particular themes.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: One of my strengths is my ability to bring unique harmony to compliment the melody and lyrics of a song in a way that feels fresh and new but not unfamiliar. I am very good at adapting to the style of a song and making sure there is synergy between all the vocals and the rest of the production.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: In all the songs I have worked on, I make sure that the intended emotion and energy of the song is well conveyed. I tie together all components of the song creatively and originally. Additionally, I can be experimental or more traditional with melodies and piano depending on what impact I am trying to create with the song.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: I alway start by speaking with my client to ensure I have a good understanding of what they want- what kind of sound and vibe they are after. I then brainstorm a few ideas and develop them a bit further before deciding on a definitive route to go down. I often work alone but would be more than happy to keep the client apprised with snippets along the way. I then continue to work on the project until the client gets what it is they were looking for.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: I am inspired by a wide range of musicians across a range of genres. Lyrically, I really appreciate the work of Billie Eilish and Jhene Aiko. Melodically I am inspired by the likes of Rihana and Brent Faiyaz. I also love music by Arlo Parks, Giveon, Sampha, Jorja Smith, Tom Mish and Anthony Lazaro

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: What I do most for my clients is songwriting. I focus on finding lyrics, melody and harmony that have great synergy with the backing track/ instrumental. I can also do acoustic piano composition and can be a toppling & back up vocalist.
