Malte S on SoundBetter

I'm an multiinstrumentalist, songwriter and music producer. Being an artist myself my strength is catchy melodys and all sorts of hooks, as well as producing a full beat, a song or just a vibe. Mixing is also something i am passionate about.

Since my school days i am dedicating my time and energy to writing, recording and producing songs for myself as well as with and for others. Topline melody writing, lyrics writing, producing became a second nature. My mixing and mastering skills round up my portfolio. Coming from the background of pop song making, sonically and lyrically i am flexible and can adapt to whatever your genre and vision is. I have worked with folk, country, singer-songwriter and pop artists before. You can also contact me to mix and master your song. Whatever you search for: On the right side of this page you can find all the opportunities that i offer for you.

Feel free to reach out if you need anything, i am happy to help!
If you want you can send me a demo/idea or tell me about your vision.

Every record is unique. Let's make yours together.

Interview with Malte S

  1. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  2. A: That i get to do what i love, everyday.

  3. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  4. A: It's easy and it needs no skills, everybody can do it. That's a common misconception from people who are not musicians themselves. They don't see the years of training that previously got into it.

  5. Q: How would you describe your style?

  6. A: Catchy. Melody-driven. Unique.

  7. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  8. A: Calmness & resting enough is a hughe tip.

  9. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  10. A: Pop & Singer-Songwriter Songs. But i also mix rap songs at times.

  11. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  12. A: My ears. My gift of melody. Musicality. Work ethic. Knowledge of years of writing & producing.

  13. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  14. A: It's quite simplistic. I have two KRK 8's. A laptop with Ableton and a lot of plugins and sounds. I got a M Audio Venom as a Synth and Midikeyboard. I have a BCF2000 that i could use for better mixing control. I got a tascam to record small ideas. XM1800S Microphone. As well as a SCT 700 for Leadvocals. I got two HB Acoustic Guitars, one HB Electric and one Fender E-Bass. I got ATH-M50x's as headphones. Oh and i got a cool thing i really like it's the Abbey Road Studio 3 by Waves. It's a virtual mixing space that emulates the famous abbey road studio 3. So i can check my mixes in a legendary studio enviroment, virtually. I also got the same with CLA Nx, that emulates the famous Mix LA Studio, where some of my favorite artist have been mixed. Helps alot with mixing.

  15. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  16. A: I am inspired from very early on by Max Martin and his swedish collegues. His clean sound and great melodic songwriting approach is simply a faszination.

  • Just mixed the Live Version of Lifeline by the amazing James Kirby ! Here's what he said about working with me:Oct 17, 2022

“It was great to work with Malte on a live recording I had from a recent band show. It can be difficult to bring everything out when so much is going on. Malte was able to bring this recording to life and with not much time for the turnaround, he did a fantastic job. I’d thoroughly recommend Malte’s work to anyone - whether you’re a solo artist or in a band”
