Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
I am new to this site, so not yet. But I hope to meet people on here soon!
Analog or digital and why?
I use both. I am on the road a lot, so I'll use more digital on a day to day basis. If it sounds good...end of story. The consumer isn't going to care if you used Analog or Digital, they just want to LISTEN.
What's your 'promise' to your clients?
I will try my hardest to accomplish YOUR goals, not mine. The song is YOURS...not mine.
What do you like most about your job?
That I get to work on other peoples art and make it as best as it can be.
What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
Will you tune my vocals and edit my drums. YES!
What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
"The mixer fixes my bad recordings." Don't depend on someone else to produce something great sounding. Take time and energy to make it how you want it to sound on your end as best as you can BEFORE you send it off to me.
What questions do you ask prospective clients?
Where do you see the song going? What is this song trying to communicate? What are your influences?
What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
Give me a chance! I'd even mix a song for free before you hire me just to let you know that I'm the guy for the job!
If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

Being in tune with what the song is already doing, and come along side of that to make it shine.

Whatever the song calls for and whatever it takes to get it to where it needs to be.
